Are the Builder 3D-Printers capable of printing ABS filament?
No, the Builder 3D-Printers are not designed to print with ABS or an ABS related material. ABS can warp due to rapid cooling and requires both a heated bed and a temperature regulated printing environment to be properly printed.
Which material do you recommend using with a Builder 3D-Printer?
Builder 3D-Printers are designed to print PLA or PLA related materials. PLA does not require a heated bed (standard on a premium series Builder) and is perfectly suited for fine detail 3D-Prints. Optionally, a heated bed can be ordered for your Builder 3D-Printer to increase the stickiness of your 3D-Print to the bed and also create a smooth flat glossy surface on the bottom. Next to PLA, other materials such as PETG, Wood fiber, PVA and Flexible can easily be used with the Builder 3D-Printers to broaden the filament pallet.
How much maintenance does a 3D-Printer require?
The only maintenance a Builder 3D-Printer requires is lubricating the shafts and linear bearings with a thin grease to keep the extruders movement as smooth as possible.

What is a Dual-Feed Extruder?
The Dual-Feed Extruding system is a unique system that combines two extruding heads into one. This means that the extruder only has one nozzle through which the filament is extruded. Two filament strings are inserted into the top and meet at the center of the nozzle. This creates a very compact, easy to use system that does not need nozzle offset compensation in the G-code because there is only one nozzle. The system automatically retracts the unwanted filament and pushes the new filament into the nozzle. With this unique system, new possibilities are on the horizon and multicolored and hybrid 3D-Prints are just the beginning.
How much warranty do I have on my Builder 3D-Printer?
All Builder 3D-Printers are supplied with a 1-year warranty. The extruders are an exception to that and are supplied with a 3 month warranty. Is your 3D-Printer damaged or did it get damaged without any fault of your own? Then your 3D-Printer will be replaced or repaired free of charge. Warning: The use of ABS or ABS related materials with a Builder 3D-Printer will void all warranty.
How can I make my 3D-Prints stick to the print bed?
When using the Builder heated beds, Kapton tape or Kapton spray is recommended to keep your 3D-Prints stick to the print bed (Both of which can be found here). If your 3D-Printer does not use a heated bed, any simple painting tape can be used to create a rough surface to which the 3D-Print can stick.
What do I have to do if my extruder gets clogged?
It is possible that your extruder gets clogged. When this happens, make sure to remove the filament from the top of the extruder and follow the instructions on how to clean your extruding head. Watch this simple video on how to clean your extruding head: Cleaning the extruding head part 1.
Which software do I have to use for my Builder 3D-Printer?
Builder 3D-Printers can use a wide variety of software programs. We have selected the most user friendly programs here.
